About Doctor Business.
The business side of medicine, taught properly. Guides, calculators, templates, and applied playbooks for UK doctors, GPs, and practice managers — the people who get handed a P&L, a contract, or a partnership offer with no training in how to read it.
What we do.
We publish substantive, numerate, UK-specific commercial education for clinicians. The catalog is the work itself — Guides that teach you how to read what gets put in front of you, Calculators that model the specific decisions doctors face, Templates that give you the documents a serious practice runs on, and Playbooks that work an applied problem end to end.
The Friday Note is the free editorial layer on top — short pieces on what's happening in UK medicine, reader questions answered, reflections on the harder calls. It's the cheapest commitment a reader can make and the best entry to the catalog.
Why we exist.
UK medical training is excellent at producing clinicians and almost silent on the business side. Most doctors arrive at their first major commercial decision — the partnership offer, the consultant contract, the question of going private, the tax structure for private work — without ever having read a P&L, valued a pension properly, or thought structurally about how their income is taxed. The cost of that gap is large, and it compounds across a career.
We exist to close that gap. Not with thin advice and slogans — there's plenty of that already — but with the substantive, applied, UK-specific material that competent clinicians actually use to make better decisions.
Who writes it.
Doctor Business is an institutional brand, not a personal one. Products are bylined to Doctor Business or to named expert contributors with brief credentialing straps. We don't run a founder face; we don't run a hot-take social account; we don't compete on charisma. The work is the work.
Behind the brand is Micker Brook Ltd, a UK company registered in England and Wales (company number TBA), with registered office TBA. Doctor Business is one of three Micker Brook brands; the others are Doctor Websites (websites for UK private medical practices) and Doctor Accounting (bookkeeping for UK private medical practices — launching soon).
How we make money.
One-time product purchases, full stop. No subscriptions, no upsells inside the products, no premium tier with the actual answers withheld. When you buy a product, you own that edition for life. When we update it, the next edition is a new product; you keep what you bought.
